GROW MAKE GATHER
GROW :: Hayfork Wine Company's goal is to emphasize the importance of farming in winemaking. We strongly believe that the hands of the farmer in the field lay the foundation necessary to produce a quality wine. And we are proud to be part of a family whose past is deeply rooted in the soils of our land and valley. Our farming heritage runs deep, as my great-great-great-grandfather, John Lewelling, a horticulturist by trade, settled the St. Helena family ranch in 1864. Whether growing walnuts, prunes, pears or grapes, we have been continuously farming our land for six generations.
MAKE :: We understand and are committed to taking a longer road, a road tied to an artisan wine with a strong connection to our land and the natural world. We are blessed with a fine cabernet soil and microclimate, which produce a grape with great concentration and poise. It is our belief that less is more when it comes to winemaking, and we strive to allow our wines to evolve naturally, with the least amount of manipulation possible.
GATHER :: Wine advocates kinship, and we make Hayfork with that in mind. We are proud to create a product that encourages folks to gather together with family and friends. There is something special about a table shared, and we would be honored to know Hayfork is on your table.
We make our wine with the hope it will help support the ranch upon which we thrive, and inspire land stewardship in generations to come, within our family and beyond. And we thank you for your support!
